ETHIOPIA BANKO MICHICHA NATURAL
Altitude: 1900 - 2030 m.
Tasting Notes: blueberry, guava, grape jam
We have sourced this deliciously fruity and sweet coffee from our partners at Crop to Cup. Here is some info from them about this particular lot:
Guji sits at the southern end of the Sidamo coffee growing region, and is part of the officlal Oromia region. This cherry drying station is owned by Mr. Degefa Sema who has been in the coffee industry for 25 years and now mainly operates a string of washing and hulling/milling stations around Keffa, Guji, and Sidamo. Just under 800 farmers deliver to Degefa's cherry collection center for this particular Banko Michicha lot. There, the coffee is carefully sorted, sun dried, then milled for export. The washing stations support local farmers with a training center and also funds other local community-based organizations which focus on agricultural best practices. This lot has all of what you've come to expect from a high quality natural Ethiopian coffee with the addition of some light and juicy fruit notes (like strawberry, guava, peach) specific to the Guji region.
